A virtual Product Launch with interactive booths to introduce the newest products

How do you gather and inform your Global Sales Teams about the latest novelties within your product range while giving them a unique online experience? Zumtobel Group invoked our online event platform to reach out to their global audience. In what follows next they share the success story of their Global Product Launch. Organizing our Launch Event in Thola was a great experience. Thanks to the help from our internal Thola Expert Roberta Figini and great support from Sofie Brijs (Thola), we became quickly familiar with all the features of this user-friendly tool. Learning event - Global Product Launch

Interactive and flexible learning journey

For their Global Product Launch, Zumtobel Group organized a two-week event, containing 14 virtual rooms to digitally house 735 participants from over 40 different countries. First of all, visitors were invited to embark on an engaging learning journey which included videos, presentations and brochures regarding their applications, solutions and products. These training materials were carefully prepared by the speakers and professionally recorded in the Zumtobel Group studio. Secondly, all the information was available in multiple languages in a virtual fair where each application had its own booth. To turn this self-pace journey into an interactive experience, the participants could join daily live Q&A sessions. Next to that, deep-dive training sessions were hosted by the Product Managers.

Because attendees joined from all around the world, content needed to be available at all times. By default, an event on the Thola platform is accessible for one week 24/7. However, for this Online Product Launch the Event Managers decided to extend the opening hours up to 2 weeks. This allowed the users to review the content and the recordings of the live sessions.

DIY configuration and design

Fun fact: did you know that the Zumtobel Group Event Organisers of the Global Product Launch set up the event entirely by themselves? Being a self-service portal, Thola ensures that anyone can set up the configuration completely independently. This is how it works: during an interactive workshop you learn to work with our dashboard, the back end of Thola. More specifically, you’re taught how to set the timings of your event, how to create rooms, how to add content to these rooms, how to configure avatars, where to find the event analytics and much more.

Even more impressive, the Event Managers created their designs in-house. From the room backgrounds, the virtual exhibition stands to their personalised avatars. They did it all themselves! The designs included very realistic representations of their actual booths and are branded in Zumtobel Group’s and Thorn’s corporate identity. This resulted in a unique yet familiar online environment for the visitors.

Feature highlight: low-threshold networking

Interaction is key during an online event. This Global Product Launch offered various options to engage with both the other attendees, the Product Managers and the Event Team.

How to reach out to:

  • Attendees: you could easily send chat messages or launch one-to-one calls to each other
  • Product managers: each booth included a box where the users could drop their questions that were answered during the live sessions
  • Event Team: in case of issues or questions, you could easily contact the event team for support
